If an application is abandoned due to U.S. Patent & Trademark Office error an applicant may file a request to reinstate the application (no fee). The applicant has 2 months from the Notice of Abandonment’s issue date to file a reinstatement request. The request must include a true copy of the timely submitted document and a copy of an acceptable proof of receipt form.
