The Berne Convention signed at Berne, Switzerland, in 1886, is the Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works and all acts, protocols, and revisions thereto. The member countries constitute a Union for the protection of the rights of authors in their literary and artistic works. Authors receive the same protection in member countries as they do in their own country.
