Created by the merger of the Book Industry Systems Advisory Committee (BISAC) and Serial Industry Systems Advisory Committees (SISAC), BASIC develops U.S. standards, policies, and procedures related to electronic business communication, bar coding, and electronic commerce, the U.S. positions within EDItEUR and works closely with the U.S. ISBN Agency.
