Entrepreneur Gomez starts “I Got My Skinny Back”
As a patent attorney I am constantly working with inventors and new entrepreneurs trying to get a new businesses off the ground.
Recently I had the opportunity to meet with Linda Ceglia Gomez from Phoenix, Arizona who is starting a new business from scratch.
So I took the opportunity to ask her a few questions that might be helpful to others who have new ideas for inventions or are just thinking about starting a new business.
Linda’s tips on starting up a business:
Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got involved with this new business?
About myself….Born and raised in Buffalo, New York. Moved to the west coast where I met my husband Ron of 31 years. We moved to Arizona, where we lived for most of our married life. Have one beautiful daughter. I lost my husband about 3 1/2 years ago.
Unfortunately, he never wanted to talk about death and dying. So we/I was not financially prepared when he unexpectedly died. His illness was very expensive, being in the neuro ICU for 30 days and then in Hospice…..well you can imagine.
I think I can write a book on being prepared for the unexpected.
For almost 40 years I have worked in the health care field, managing physician practices. My reality is that in order for me to retire someday soon and live comfortably, I had to find a good company with good products to develop a residual income.
And I needed to start a company with very little capital investment!
I believe that I have found it as an independent distributor with a company called “It Works.”
As an independent distributor for “It Works” I will distribute: Skinny wraps, lip and eye cream, facial masks, hair and nails and much much more!
There is so much emphasis today on being healthy and looking good; I thought this would help a lot of people achieve their goals!
How hard was it for you to come up with ideas for your webpage?
Coming up with an idea of what to name my company was my first hurdle. My business name is “I Got My Skinny Back“ which I thought was pretty youthful and might grab people’s attention.
In the next few weeks I am going to host a product launch, giving people the opportunity to try the product and see how well it works.
What has been the biggest struggle as far as getting the business off the ground?
When you start something like this, I think the hardest people to convince is family….My daughter helped me set up my webpage through Go Daddy, thank God she is good with computers.
Together we added some of the product pictures and information on my page. The web page allows people to purchase product and become a “loyal” customer. The new customer can set up an automatic purchase/ship to keep the product coming as needed. And get the same price as I do as an Independent Distributor.
Once a customer tries the products, the products will sell themselves!! And then the customer can see the benefit in becoming a distributor.
What is the link to your webpage?
My website: igotmyskinnyback.com
To order products: igotmyskinnyback.myitworks.com/
Have you had any success driving traffic to your webpage?
Social networks make it so much easier to do this. Invite your customers to a Facebook group in support of the products and services. As they witness and see growth, they will want to duplicate this process for themselves. By the way please like me on Facebook.
The company has a business plan and offers training online as well. I need to cultivate visibility.
What advice can you give to other entrepreneurs?
The more your customers/buyers and community members see themselves in your efforts, the more they’ll want to participate and send business your way.
What are some your goals with your new business?
I am hoping this opportunity will give me a “life with unlimited options”, develop new friendships and have more freedom and fun. This project has given me new direction for my life.
